Close out the 2026 season in epic fashion as KAS returns to Tennessee for Broodstock II: A Journey on the Cumberland, hosted by Visit Clarksville -a crossroads of legendary water, diversity, and true championship potential. This finale places anglers at the intersection of sprawling reservoirs, winding rivers, and hidden backwaters, where adaptability and decision-making matter just as much as raw fishing skill.

At the heart of the event lies the iconic Cumberland River and its legendary backwaters at the headwaters of Lake Barkley. Barkley is a massive, fertile fishery loaded with classic largemouth structure - creek arms, ledges, grass and shallow flats - while still holding plenty of smallmouth in the right zones. Don't count out the numerous central Tennessee rivers, creeks, and smaller lakes that are also in play and open the door to radically different patterns and winning strategies. From current-driven smallmouth water to slow, methodical largemouth hunts, this event truly offers a mixed-bag championship feel.

Beyond the fishing, Clarksville delivers the perfect host city vibe - easy access, great food, riverfront parks, and a strong outdoor culture. Families can explore local trails, historic downtown, and nearby recreation areas while anglers prepare for one final push toward glory. Everything about the region feels built for a season-ending celebration.

Our Closing Ceremony Festival - complete with food, music, games, kayak demos, Toyota truck displays, and a kids zone - will be held at The Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park, where the final Awards Ceremony will reveal the season’s defining moments through GoPro-shot highlights and crown the new "Broodmaster" and our 2026 AOY and TMOY.

Come chase Broodstock bass across Tennessee’s most diverse waters and finish the season on a journey worthy of a KAS finale. The Cumberland awaits.

Eligible Core Bodies of Water **

         LAKES

Barkley {} Elk Creek Lake {} Cross Creeks Pool

              RIVERS

Cumberland River {} Red River (all forks) {} Harpeth River

** including all free flowing canals, creeks & rivers feeding in. When scouting (online or in person) track all tributaries upstream from one of the core bodies of water listed above until you hit any of the following man-made obstacles - solid or earthen dam, or road, culvert or pipe etc that you cannot kayak under/over. Any of those points are hard KAS boundaries. However, a "spillway" or "lowhead" type dam is legal  in KAS and anglers can fish & access above & below them. They are just "running the river" and are different from "solid or earthen" dams that have water flowing under the dam via a pipe or drain (think neighborhood or farm ponds, private lakes etc) or through larger outflows or turbines on larger public lake dams. If the water above a non-spillway type dam is legal in KAS it will be marked and listed as one of your "core" bodies of water on this page/map. If not, then it is not legal for the event.

Anglers must access "legally" & "publicly." If you find any water, or access, you feel may not be covered by the interactive map, preview video, or rules standards please contact the KAS Tournament Director prior to the event for clarification or risk being DQ'd if it is later deemed to be not eligible. For help determining "public" access reference this GIS Flowchart
