"Juniata Regatta"

   June 19-20, Lewistown, PA
   Awards @ Miller Cinemas

juniata river valley.png

Dive into the heart of Pennsylvania as KAS heads to Lewistown for the Juniata Regatta - a smallmouth showdown on one of the most celebrated river systems in the East. The Juniata River and its vast network of branches, creeks, and hidden feeder streams offer mile after mile of prime bronzeback water: long riffles, deep ledges, boulder fields, grassy flats, and endless kayak-friendly stretches that produce quality smallmouth all season long.

Within 45 minutes of Lewistown, anglers can explore a true “river angler’s playground.” The mainstem Juniata provides flow, structure, and numbers; the Little Juniata and Raystown Branch give you classic mountain-water vibes. Whether you’re drifting wide-open ledges or sliding into skinny water fed by Appalachian springs, this stop promises a technical, rewarding, and insanely fun bass hunt.

While you're here, enjoy the charm of central Pennsylvania. Explore mountain overlooks, local coffee shops, and riverside parks. Bring the family to check out Reeds Gap State Park, wander the shops in downtown Lewistown or Mifflintown, or venture the surrounding area for trails, food, and classic PA scenery. The whole region blends outdoor grit with small-town friendliness in a way that feels perfect for a KAS week.

Our Closing Ceremony Festival - complete with food, music, games, vendors, and Toyota truck displays - will be held at Miller Cinemas, with the Awards Ceremony inside to relive GoPro-shot highlights and crown the Juniata Regatta champions.

Come chase bronzebacks in the heart of PA, explore an iconic river system shaped by the Appalachians, and experience an event built for anglers who love pure river adventure. The Juniata Regatta awaits.

Eligible Core Bodies of Water **

         LAKES

 Raystown {} Walker {} Faylor {} Holman

              RIVERS

 Juniata {} Sherman's Creek {} Penns Creek

** including all free flowing canals, creeks & rivers feeding in. When scouting (online or in person) track all tributaries upstream from one of the core bodies of water listed above until you hit any of the following man-made obstacles - solid or earthen dam, or road, culvert or pipe etc that you cannot kayak under/over. Any of those points are hard KAS boundaries. However, a "spillway" or "lowhead" type dam is legal  in KAS and anglers can fish & access above & below them. They are just "running the river" and are different from "solid or earthen" dams that have water flowing under the dam via a pipe or drain (think neighborhood or farm ponds, private lakes etc) or through larger outflows or turbines on larger public lake dams. If the water above a non-spillway type dam is legal in KAS it will be marked and listed as one of your "core" bodies of water on this page/map. If not, then it is not legal for the event.

Anglers must access "legally" & "publicly." If you find any water, or access, you feel may not be covered by the interactive map, preview video, or rules standards please contact the KAS Tournament Director prior to the event for clarification or risk being DQ'd if it is later deemed to be not eligible. For help determining "public" access reference this GIS Flowchart
