"NorthWoods Bronzequest"Presented by Crescent Kayaks
August 28-29, Marinette, WI
Awards @ Mariner Theater

Achigan's
Head north into Wisconsin’s wild borderlands as KAS brings anglers to Marinette for Achigan's Northwoods BronzeQuest - an adventure-rich stop surrounded by endless water and big smallmouth opportunity. This region sits at the doorstep of everything a bass angler dreams of: the sprawling waters of Green Bay, quietly loaded with giant bronzebacks, plus a maze of rivers, creeks, flowages, natural lakes, undeveloped ponds, and wilderness stretches that seem built for kayak exploration.
Within Marinette County in any direction, anglers can access fisheries with totally different personalities - from the Menominee River’s rugged current seams and rock gardens, to the flowages and tannin-stained backwaters of the inland forests, to the vast, clear, wind-swept bays where true Great Lakes smallmouth roam. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure style event, where the challenge isn’t finding water - it’s deciding which world-class option to commit to.
While you're here, soak in the beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. Explore waterfall trails along the Peshtigo, wander through quiet pine forests, or enjoy a laid-back evening in town grabbing a local brew or stocking up at outfitters. The region feels like a gateway to the far north - peaceful, wild, and tailor-made for anglers and families who love outdoor adventure.
Our Closing Ceremony Festival - complete with food, music, games, vendors, Toyota truck displays - will be held at the Mariner Theater, with the final Awards Ceremony inside where we’ll relive the weekend’s best catches through GoPro footage and crown our champions.
Come chase legendary Great Lakes bronzebacks, navigate the endless Blue-Green maze of the Northwoods, and experience one of the most adventure-filled stops on the entire KAS trail. Your Achigan BronzeQuest begins in Marinette.

Eligible Water
In unique Bronzequest fashion - to highlight all the incredible waters in Marinette County's northwoods - we have a special "road and river border radius."
It's actually very simple - launch anywhere inside the road and river boundary on the eligible water map and you're legal for this event. The north and western border is made by roads, and the northeastern boundary is the state border via the Menominee River so it should be very clear for all anglers to understand.

You can motor or paddle outside of the borders so long as you have launched inside of this boundary first.

As long as there is "publicly and legal access" inside the boundary then it is legal for the event - rivers, lakes, ponds, creeks, flowages. If it has smallmouth in it and is public, fish it!

The actual "Green Bay" is in bounds as well, but there is a 1/2 mile offshore maximum for anglers fishing the big water. Again, you must launch inside of the blue boundary to fish the main lake as well.

Anglers must access "legally" & "publicly." If you find any water, or access, you feel may not be covered by the interactive map, preview video, or rules standards please contact the KAS Tournament Director prior to the event for clarification or risk being DQ'd if it is later deemed to be not eligible. For help determining "public" access reference this GIS Flowchart
