"Tallabassee" presented by NuCanoe
Mar 27-28, Tallahassee, FL
Awards @ Legacy at the Riverfront
Kick off spring in the heart of Florida’s Big Bend as KAS heads to Tallahassee, a hidden gem for trophy bass and wild, untouched adventure. Within easy driving distance of the city, anglers can launch into a diverse mix of fisheries—from the storied Lake Talquin or mysterious Lake Jackson, to the sprawling Ochlockonee River system or countless spring-fed rivers, creeks, or dark water backwaters that produce big Florida-strain bass year-round.

While you're here, explore a region loaded with natural beauty. Check out Wakulla Springs, one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world, home to manatees, gators, and some of the clearest spring-run paddling you'll find anywhere. Nearby coastal zones like St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge bring a totally different flavor of paddling, birding, and hiking—perfect for families tagging along.

Tallahassee itself brings a mix of Southern charm, college-town energy, and great food. Whether you're grabbing a bite in Midtown, exploring trails at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, or stocking up at local outfitters, everything you need for tournament week is close at hand.

Our Closing Ceremony Festival—complete with food, music, games, kayak demos, Toyota truck displays, and a kids zone—will be held at , with the final Awards Ceremony inside (theater name) to relive GoPro-shot highlights from the weekend.
Come chase giants, explore Florida’s wild side, and kick off the season in a place built for adventure.

Eligible Core Bodies of Water **

LAKES
Talquin {} Jackson {} Carr {} Iamonia {} Miccosukee {} Hall {} Ocheesee Pond {} Otter Lake {} Merritts Millpond

 RIVERS
Wakulla {} Wacissa {} Aucilla {} Appalachicola {} Chipola Ochlockonee {} Sopchoppy {} St. Marks

** including all free flowing canals, creeks & rivers feeding in. When scouting (online or in person) track all tributaries upstream from one of the core bodies of water listed above until you hit any of the following man-made obstacles - solid or earthen dam, or road, culvert or pipe etc that you cannot kayak under/over. Any of those points are hard KAS boundaries. However, a "spillway" or "lowhead" type dam is legal in KAS and anglers can fish & access above & below them. They are just "running the river" and are different from "solid or earthen" dams that have water flowing under the dam via a pipe or drain (think neighborhood or farm ponds, private lakes etc) or through larger outflows or turbines on larger public lake dams. If the water above a non-spillway type dam is legal in KAS it will be marked and listed as one of your "core" bodies of water on this page/map. If not, then it is not legal for the event.
Anglers must access "legally" & "publicly." If you find any water, or access, you feel may not be covered by the interactive map, preview video, or rules standards please contact the KAS Tournament Director prior to the event for clarification or risk being DQ'd if it is later deemed to be not eligible. For help determining "public" access reference this GIS Flowchart
